YOUR EVERYDAY BUOY BAND
The Buoys are an all-woman rock band from Eora/Sydney, Australia. Emerging from the local DIY scene, they’ve swiftly become one of Australia’s most exciting and dynamic live acts.
Blending pop hooks with driving rock, punk energy, and relatable lyricism, their music resonates with audiences both at home and abroad. Their live shows are celebrated for their raucous, infectious energy, with the band engaging audiences to create unforgettable, immersive experiences.
Since forming in 2016, The Buoys have built a reputation as one of Australia’s most compelling rock acts. Their debut album Lustre (2024) earned critical acclaim, debuted at #7 on the Australian Album ARIA Charts, and sparked a sold‑out national tour. The record was a Triple J Featured Album and received a nomination for Triple J Australian Album of the Year.
Following its success, the band continued their momentum with the 2025 single Bitch, further cementing their voice in conversations around power, identity, and womanhood. Across 2024–2025, The Buoys also completed their first international run, performing at The Great Escape (UK), Reeperbahn Festival (DE), and a series of headline shows across the UK and Europe.
Known for their explosive live energy, The Buoys have toured relentlessly, selling out venues across Australia and sharing stages with Arctic Monkeys, DMA’S, and Wet Leg, as well as appearing at Laneway, Spilt Milk, and Splendour in the Grass. Now in 2026, they continue to expand their global footprint with their signature blend of sharp lyricism, tight musicianship, and high-octane live shows.

The Buoys Speak Their Mind on New Single ‘Bitch’
The Buoys’ 2024 album Lustre was featured on Rolling Stone AU/NZ’s 100 Best Australian Albums of the 2020s So Far list.
“The Buoys‘ Lustre does have a certain shine about it. Maybe it’s the confidence of youth, or perhaps it’s that indie guitar-rock sound that might’ve hitched a ride all the way from the ‘90s. And there are the rippers, like “Unstuck”, a track that requires repeat listens with the volume cranked,” the feature wrote.

The Buoys – ‘Lustre’ review: the cathartic debut the Aussie alt-rockers have been hinting at for so long
‘Lustre’ follows through on the fiery promise of previous Buoys anthems like 2021’s ‘Lie to Me Again’, especially since Catterall’s ability to fold punchy commentary into compact, guitar-driven music has only grown more assured with time. The Buoys – who were named with a clear wink and nudge – centre the queer female experience more and more, balancing well-earned ire with accessible songwriting.

The Buoys: 'It Felt Like One Huge Collective Win For All Of Us'
Reflecting on the success of their debut album and love for the band’s fans, Catterall shares, “Straight away, you think of the people who care enough to buy the album or come to a show, because they’re the reason we’re able to do any of this. I know they’re just as stoked as we are about how Lustre charted. It felt like one huge collective win for all of us.”
